Sandbank is knitted in the round, bottom-up, separates at the underarm and then the sleeve stitches are picked up and knitted down to the cuff.
There are 13 different colours making up the stripe pattern which has a rhythm all of its own. I don’t stipulate where you put your stripes and how wide you make them, it’s all up to you, but you could go by the photograph!
My inspiration for Sandbank was initially my living room rug. It then expanded to incorporate the colours of the bricks under the Mill Bridge in Skipton. When the sun shines traces of foot and boot prints of both humans and their pets, are picked out in its rays.
